About Us
OTHER IS SET APART

Becoming Set Apart from this world
by making the choice to turn away
from the destructive forces of selfishness,
immorality,   alcohol and drugs, prejudice
and so many other things that steal away
our future. But more than that, it's turning
our hearts toward God and His Son, Jesus
Christ, allowing God’s Word to guide us in
each step of the amazing journey He has
for us all. God has called us to be set apart,
to be different, to be Other. Romans 12

Other also desires to help students grow into
a life marked not by regret but by passion
for Jesus Christ and for others to Him.

OTHER IS EXPERIENCE
Other comes from Isaiah 45:18 “ I am the LORD, and there is no other."
A passion and desire we have for our students is to experience the
Otherness of God. There is no "Other" . Nothing even compares to our Lord.

OTHER IS EVERYONE

Other is for you. Middle school or high school. Black or white. Male or female.
Maybe you're not really into the "church" thing. That's okay, too. Just come and
check it out. Otherunique. We believe in keeping the 10 commandments
but breaking most of the other traditional rules associated with church.

Why it's important to us:

1. Jesus commanded us to make disciples

2. Almost 90% of people who accept Christ do so before
     they graduate High School

3. Teenagers ROCK!!!!!

What we teach:

1. Authentic Faith - what it means, how it shows itself in our l
ives, & how a person can have it.

2. Spiritual Disciplines - learning how to be the people God
created us to be through exercises like Bible study, prayer,
witnessing, giving, journaling, meditation, and serving.

3. Moral Boundaries - physical relationships, habits, & related
topics. If we are sharing in a way that may be overly sensitive,
we try to let parents know in advance so they can plan to attend.

4. Healthy Friendships - why we need to be thinking about who
our friends are & how they influence us. We want students to
learn to actively choose their friends rather than letting their
friends choose them.

5. Wise Choices - making the best decisions about peer pressure,
TV, clothing, music, movies, & culture.

6. Ultimate Authority - relating to authority figures including: parents,
teachers & school officials, & especially God.

7. Others First - contradicting everything our culture says, we try to
instill the Biblical mandate of humility, that students might consider
others better than themselves (Phil 2:3) and that "the last will be first" (Matt 19:30)
